A diet can be an effective treatment for diabetics.

More than 100 million people today suffer from diabetes or prediabetes. A recent study by an American and Japanese research team shows that people with diabetes can dramatically improve their health by thoroughly nourishing themselves with vegetables. (1) In my work with people with diabetes, I have found that they have proven to be healthy. Dr Gabriel Cousens advocates a raw vegan diet in his 2008 book. There is a cure for diabetes. (2)

People with diabetes who want to reduce their medication can now understand that the type of food they eat has a direct impact on their health. In 2014, Cardiovascular Diagnostic and Treatment published a meta-analysis of six critical previous research studies. The researchers found that a plant-based diet significantly improved glycemic control in type 2 diabetes and improved in vitro results with the haemoglobin A1c indicator. The results are improved by 1.2 points, which is much higher than the effect of conventional oral antidiabetics. (3) Benefits of excluding meat, cheese and eggs from the diet, usually 0.7 points. James Anderson has studied 25 Type 1 and 25 people with diabetes where patients are given a diet high in fibre, carbohydrates and fat. Dr Anderson initially offered the patient a food recommended by the American Diabetes Association for one week. He then ate vegetarian on a vegetarian basis for three weeks. None of these patients was overweight at the beginning of the study, but they did receive insulin injections to control their blood sugar levels. During the entire study, Dr. med. Type 1 diabetics can not produce insulin, and it was assumed that dietary changes would not change this situation. However, the results showed that after one week of a vegetarian diet rich in fibre and high in fibre, type 1 diabetics “could reduce their insulin treatment by an average of 40%”, “their blood sugar profiles have improved significantly”. and her “cholesterol level dropped by 30%”. These results were more impressive in type 2 diabetics who did not infect their pancreas. People with type 2 diabetes can altogether discontinue their insulin treatment. Type 2 diabetes can not get a 25-year-old diabetic to take 35 units a day. After three weeks of a vegetarian diet, it was reduced to eight units a day. In addition to a herbal diet, people with diabetes can take six extreme dietary measures to regulate their blood sugar and improve their health: chromium, cinnamon, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, zinc and refined sea salt in minerals) — sea salt.

Mineral chrome helps to transport glucose from the blood to the muscles. According to the National Institutes of Health, “Chromium is known to enhance the effects of insulin, a hormone essential for the metabolism and storage of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins in the body.” (8) People who consume non-organic foods are more likely to miss this vital micronutrient. Chemical fertilizers used in industrial agriculture destroy the naturally occurring chromium in the soil. This is one of the many reasons why organic foods are always the best option in supermarkets.

Chromium additives must have a glucose tolerance factor on the label. I should say “GTF Chrome”. Avoid synthetic supplements that do not contain organic whole grains.

Cinnamon will be an excellent meal. Studies have shown that cinnamon in people with type 2 diabetes can help lower blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the cardiovascular system. Cinnamon can also help us with increased alertness and energized senses. Even a teaspoon a day helps to control blood sugar.

Ceylon cinnamon is the best cinnamon. Cassia, Saigon and Chinese cinnamon contain 5% coumarin, which is problematic for the liver. Ceylon cinnamon contains only 0004% coumarin. Sprinkle your toast, oatmeal or other dishes in the morning.

Omega-3 fatty acids are healthy fats that our body can not produce, and that needs to be extracted from food. Studies show that adding omega-3 to your diet promotes healthy blood sugar levels. Try to add cold-pressed organic linseed or hemp oil to your smoothies and other foods, such as chia-seed oatmeal pudding in the morning.

The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine at the University of Vitamin D has reviewed the medical information of 124 patients aged 36 to 89 years with type II diabetes. Those with the lowest vitamin D levels had the highest blood sugar levels. Only six per cent of people took a vitamin D supplement. You may need to cure a vitamin D deficiency. I supplement my vitamin D intake with a raw, organic multivitamin food.

Zinc is one of the essential minerals in the body. It helps in the production of about 100 enzymes. Zinc strengthens the immune system. Zinc is needed for protein and DNA synthesis, insulin activity and liver function.

Zinc is not stored in our body, so we need regular care. Men need about one-third more zinc than women because the prostate and sperm are heavily concentrated on zinc. Zinc deficiency can be in the form of skin problems, deterioration of the taste, a disturbed immune system, hair loss, diarrhoea, fatigue, non-healing wounds or weak or slow growth rates of the baby.

Even if you eat high-zinc foods, you may need a supplement because phytic acid and fibre in some foods can inhibit zinc uptake. If you are taking a vitamin supplement of any kind (e.g. multivitamin, vitamin D, chromium or zinc), make sure that it is natural and not synthetic. Synthetic forms of nutrients can be harmful to the body. (9) Instead, buy supplements that show complete and organic foods on your ingredient lists.

Unrefined sea salt promotes proper balance for the appropriate functioning of the endocrine, adrenal and thyroid glands. It supports healthy blood pressure, detoxifies the body and, together with water, is necessary for the optimal functioning of the immune system, the hormonal system and cardiovascular health. (10)

Dr. David Brownstein says that low-salt diets “promote toxicity” and have:

… adverse effects on many metabolic markers, including the promotion of high insulin levels and high insulin resistance. Low-salt diets have been associated with healthy LDL cholesterol and cholesterol levels associated with cardiovascular disease. Finally, a low-salt diet leads to mineral deficiencies and chronic diseases. (11)

In summary, you can find that diet is an essential factor in curing or combating diabetes and preventing so many diseases that often cause diabetes: blindness, amputation, stroke, and heart disease. You can avoid taking insulin injections all your life. It is a personal decision that nobody can make for you. I always find it so compelling when someone decides to take responsibility for their health and well-being and make the necessary changes. It all starts with making that decision and taking steps to execute it.

Kaiser Permanente, the largest managed care organization in the US, tells physicians that the plant-based diet improves food. “Studies show that herbal diets are cost-effective low-risk interventions that can lower body mass index, blood pressure and HbA1C.” “They can also reduce the amount of medication needed to treat chronic diseases and lower the mortality rate of ischemic heart disease, and doctors should consider recommending a herbal diet to all of their patients.”
